Director of Engineering

The Director of Engineering will provide leadership and guidance in developing, implementing and following processes and design flows used in the development of aerospace products.  This position will be responsible for a team of engineers, including Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Test Engineers, as well as Configuration/Data Management Specialists. Provide engineering support for new product development, production and maintenance and the complete life cycle of the product.  Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, engineering documentation, data collection and analyzation, new product launches and continuous improvement throughout the engineering process.

The Machinist (Prototype, Toolroom, Mechanical Assembler) converts computer-generated mechanical drawings into CNC using Master Cam software; produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines; maintains CNC Mill equipment as necessary; coordinates, schedules, and produces proof of concept components and advises R&D principals and Mechanical Engineers on practical machining aspects of planned projects. The Machinist trains technicians on practical CNC principles and maintains quality and safety standards. In addition, the Machinist sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and measuring instruments; and performs repetitive work-station or line-assembly operations to produce components or to assemble those components into a completed product, when necessary, to support R&D or Manufacturing. They may also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools, applying knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
