Ophir Corporation is having a birthday!
Sensing what’s “out there,” has been a very successful business for Ophir Corporation. Atmospheric remote sensing might seem like a very esoteric topic, but Ophir has taken this detection capability to new frontiers. From microscopic ice crystals to methane molecules, Ophir has developed instruments to sense these atmospheric constituents. This expertise in remote sensing, successfully applied to detection of condensation trails in the 90s, is now expanded to a variety of applications and markets. Ophir is currently developing a system for liquid and natural
gas pipeline leak detection, named duoThaneâ, and an optical air
data sensor, senseAir™, which measures airspeed,
angle of attack, angle of sideslip, true air temperature and air pressure — all
with one sensor. Ophir researchers are also exploring the
application of optical remote sensing to the intelligent vehicle market—specifically
for night vision, collision avoidance and adaptive cruise control for
the automotive market. Please contact Connie Williams at 303-933-2200, for more information.
