Turbulence brings a new NSF grant to Ophir.
1/11/2006 The National Science Foundation awards grant for research of
a turbulence sensor. Detection and measurement of turbulence ahead
of an airborne vehicle is the subject of a new Ophir research study funded
by a $99,000 National Science Foundation grant. A sensor technology that
can detect turbulent events well ahead of the aircraft will provide a
significant cost and safety benefit to the commercial airline industry
